Nothing in this article shall prevent persons of Samish descent who are or who become enrolled in other federally recognized Indian tribes from applying for membership in the Samish Indian Nation. No person who is enrolled in another federally recognized Indian tribe may become or remain enrolled as a member of the Samish Indian Nation until they have documented their relinquishment of membership in the other tribe, or may remain enrolled as a member of the Samish Indian Nation if they do not relinquish their membership in the other tribe.
