ARTICLE X AMENDMENT

This constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the qualified voters of the Samish Indian Nation voting at an election called for that purpose, provided, that at least one-third (1/3) of the General Council votes in such election, and provided further, that the Election Board shall use the Tribe’s list of eligible voters. It shall be the duty of the Election Board to call an election on any proposed amendment at the request of a majority of the Tribal Council or upon receipt of a petition signed by at least one-quarter (1/4) of the General Council.
