The definitions below, as well as those in STC Chapter 1.04, apply to the terms used in this chapter.

Disabling event” means an event such as a major medical event, severe auto accident, loss of shelter due to uncontrollable event, loss of immediate family member.

Durable medical equipment” or “DME” means equipment that provides therapeutic benefits to a patient in need because of certain medical conditions or illness.

Immediate family member” means spouse, child, significant other, partner.

PRC” or “Samish PRC” means the Purchased/Referred Care program offered by the Samish Indian Nation.

PRC enrollee” means a person who is enrolled in Samish PRC per STC 10.20.080.

PRC Resource Panel” means the committee composed of the following Samish Indian Nation employees: General Manager, Tribal Administrator, Health and Human Services Department Director.

PRC Service Area” means the Washington State counties of Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, King, Pierce, San Juan, Island, Kitsap, Jefferson, and Clallam.

PRC Services” means the Purchased/Referred Care services offered by Samish PRC.

Provider” means the health (including psychological and medical) providers who provide health services to the PRC enrollee.

Samish Health Director” means the director of the Samish department in charge of Samish PRC. [Res. 2020-10-013 § 2, 2020.]
