(1) Undergraduate (including Running Start) students are eligible for a cumulative total of five years of academic full-time support. This may include any combination of the below categories. (For instance, a student that uses two years of support for an AA degree is eligible for three more years of support total.) Each category listed below has additional limitations on eligibility.

(a) Undergraduate Students. Full-time students will be funded for a lifetime total of up to five years (15 cumulative quarters or 10 cumulative semesters) to complete a degree.

(b) Vocational Students and Two-Year Transfer Degrees. Full-time students will be funded for a total of up to three years (nine cumulative quarters or six cumulative semesters) to complete a two-year degree, including terms used as Running Start students.

(c) Part-Time Students. Students whose academic load and funding is at less than full time will have their lifetime total calculated to reflect their status. For example, a student who received support for a 50 percent credit load for two quarters or semester will use of their eligibility at a reduced rate.

(2) Summer Session Funding. Summer term will be reviewed in spring of current academic year. If funds are determined to be available they will be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis.

(3) Post baccalaureate (grad, PhD, etc.) students are eligible for an additional total of three academic years of full-time support (nine quarters/six semesters). All part-time and summer session guidelines apply for post-bac funding. Each potential graduate student should contact their school’s financial aid office for a listing of graduate funding resources.

(4) Eligibility Timeline. The beginning date for calculating lifetime eligibility for all Samish citizens who have received support for higher education, vocational education, and transfer degrees is the date of federal rerecognition, April 26, 1996.
