(1) An applicant who has completed an assistance application and is denied funding may, within five days of receiving notice of denial, appeal to the Samish Indian Nation Appeals Board. The appeal must be in writing, addressed to the Appeals Board, and set forth the reason(s) why the applicant is appealing the decision.

(2) The Appeals Board will meet to review the case, according to the Samish Indian Nation Appeals process. A final appeal, if the decision by the Appeals Board is unsatisfactory to the applicant, may be made to the Tribal Council. The decision of the Tribal Council will be final, and the applicant will be provided a written explanation regarding the basis on which the decision was made.
