(1) Voting. Decisions of the Tribal Council shall be by majority vote of the Council members present at a meeting, except where otherwise required by the Constitution or tribal ordinance. Voting shall be by voice vote or by written ballot as the Chairman shall direct. Voice voting shall be by aye or nay with the total yes, no, and abstentions votes recorded.

(2) Conflict of Interest. No Tribal Council member shall vote on any matter in which he or she or a member of his or her immediate family has a direct personal interest, including but not limited to employment contracts, project funding and appointments to tribal committees. For purposes of this chapter, “immediate family” means father, mother, son, daughter, husband, wife, brother, sister, any other person in a similar relationship, and any person living in the Tribal Council member’s household.
