The Natural Resources Committee may issue permits to Samish citizens to allow plant material to be harvested for funerals, ceremonies, and other Tribal uses. The permit shall specify the type of plant material, quantity, and any other conditions the Committee attaches. Permits under this section may be issued for use during a closed season. The Natural Resources Committee shall authorize a “designated gatherer” to receive the permit. Requests for permits under this section must be submitted in writing to the Natural Resources Committee.
