(1) It is understood that indirect costs are actual costs that are incurred by the Nation and thus, all applications for grants and contracts must seek the full rate of indirect costs or the maximum allowable under the grant or contract.

(2) In the event the Nation’s indirect rate exceeds the amount allowed by a particular grant or contract, the General Manager or Tribal Administrator will work with the Supervisor seeking the grant to request Tyee dollars to cover the indirect cost shortfall. Applications for grants and contracts which do not provide for recovery of indirect costs at the full rate awarded will be disallowed, unless the Tribal Council approves the allocation of Tyee funds to cover the shortfall of all or a portion of the indirect cost.
