The laws of the Samish Indian Nation do not prohibit a member of the Tribal Council from being employed as a Tribal Employee. Tribal Council Members, who are employed by the Tribe in an administrative capacity, shall receive pay and benefits and are subject to all rules and regulations outlined within this policy.

The definition of a Tribal Council activity shall be in accordance with Article VI, Powers of the Tribal Council, as outlined in the Constitution of the Samish Indian Nation. Tribal Council Members acting in their capacity as a member of the Tribal Council are not entitled to pay or benefits nor are they subject to the rules and regulations outlined within this policy.
