(1) An orientation program will be developed by the Human Resources Director to acquaint new employees with Tribal Government, Tribal Administration and to familiarize them with their jobs. Each employee’s supervisor will be responsible for assuring that a departmental orientation is also carried out.

(2) At a minimum, the orientation program will include the following:

(a) An opportunity for the employee to read and ask questions about the Tribe’s Personnel Policies and Procedures.

(b) An opportunity for the employee to read materials that are relevant to the employee’s job including but not limited to work plans, program contracts and grants, annual reports and program budgets.

(c) An opportunity for the employee to meet with other Tribal employees, representatives and officials with whom the employee will work.

(d) An opportunity for the employee to resolve any questions about the work for which the employee is responsible, either through the employee’s supervisor or through a fellow employee.

(e) Any additional information specific to the employee’s position such as work safety issues.

(3) At the conclusion of this orientation, the employee will be asked to sign an acknowledgment that they have received a copy of the Tribe’s Personnel Policies and Procedures and have had the opportunity to read it and asked questions concerning their duties and obligations as a Tribal employee.
