(1) If funds are available in the department’s budget for additional compensation, the appropriate Chief Executive Team member may authorize a nonexempt employee to work more than 40 hours in one work week if extra hours are required for the employee to meet their workload. Except under unforeseen circumstances, the appropriate Chief Executive Team member must approve all overtime in advance in writing. Overtime will be paid at the hourly equivalent of one and one-half times the employee’s regular hourly wage for actual hours worked that are in excess of 40 hours per work week as defined above.

(2) The Tribe will not pay overtime for outside training and events in the following circumstances:

(a) Attendance is outside the employee’s regular working hours;

(b) Attendance is voluntary;

(c) Employee does no productive regular work while attending; and

(d) The training/meeting is not directly related to the employee’s job. [Res. 2022-10-016 § 1, 2022.]
