(1) Full-time regular employees are expected to devote full time and attention to fulfilling their work responsibilities to the Samish Indian Nation. Employees are required to notify their supervisor and the appropriate Chief Executive Team member in writing of any and all outside employment or private enterprise involvement other than with the Tribe, or Tribal businesses or entities. Such outside employment may not cause any of the following results: conflict with or impairment of assigned duties, a conflict of interest, unfavorable publicity or poor relations with the Samish Indian Nation, reduction in work efforts on behalf of the Samish Indian Nation, or violation of the confidentiality of Tribal documents or information.

(2) The appropriate Chief Executive Team member may prohibit an employee’s outside employment that fits within any of these categories. The employee’s written notification of outside employment shall be included in the employee’s personnel file. [Res. 2022-10-016 § 1, 2022.]
