Permanent full-time Tribal employees may receive up to five days (40 hours) paid leave per loss for funeral leave to attend services of immediate family member subject to approval of the employee’s supervisor. One day of funeral leave may be used to attend the services of a Tribal member subject to the approval of the employee’s supervisor. Regular part-time Tribal employees may receive prorated funeral leave based on the number of hours worked compared to the full-time equivalency.

A Tribal employee who is designated by the Tribal Council to represent the Samish Indian Nation at a funeral is entitled to receive his or her regular pay for such attendance without regard to the provisions of this section. [Res. 2022-10-016 § 1, 2022.]
