The appropriate Chief Executive Team member may approve educational leave for a full-time regular employee not to exceed one year for such purposes as attending a special school or completing a college degree. Education leave is leave without pay. Educational leave will only be granted when a training request and electronic leave request has been completed by the employee. The employee’s supervisor must verify that the educational request is job related, and that it is in the best interest of the Tribe to grant the leave as requested by the employee. The employee shall be entitled to reinstatement in his or her previous position at the end of his or her educational leave. [Res. 2022-10-016 § 1, 2022.]
