(1) The appropriate Chief Executive Team member approves all hiring for the Samish Indian Nation. Pursuant to the requirements of the Head Start grant, and the Federal regulations governing the Head Start Program, the Head Start Policy Council must be involved in the hiring of Head Start staff as set forth in this section.

(2) Applicant Screening. In cases of Head Start positions the Policy Council shall be involved in the screening of applicants. The Head Start Program Director or Senior Human Resources Officer will coordinate the review of applicants for such positions with the Policy Council members.

(3) Interview Committee. When interviewing for a Head Start position, Policy Council parents and/or parents of the program will be invited to be part of the Interview Committee.

(4) Final Hiring Decision. The Policy Council must approve the applicant chosen for the position prior to an offer of employment is made to the applicant. [Res. 2022-10-016 § 1, 2022.]
