(1) Extended No-Contact Order. If the COO determines there is a reasonable basis for believing the respondent continued contact with a covered person after receiving a no-contact order letter, the COO may extend the expiration of the no-contact order. The COO extends the expiration date by sending an extended no-contact order letter via certified mail. In addition to meeting the requirements of STP 5-17-004(3), the extended no-contact order letter must include the reason(s) the no-contact order was extended and the new expiration date.

(2) Permanent No-Contact Order. If the COO previously extended the expiration date of a no-contact order under subsection (1) of this section and the COO determines there is a reasonable basis for believing the respondent continued contact with a covered person after receiving the extended no-contact order letter, the COO may make the no-contact order permanent, terminating only upon a determination by the COO that a no-contact order is no longer in the best interest of all parties and the Samish Indian Nation. The COO makes the no-contact order permanent by sending a permanent no-contact order letter via certified mail. In addition to meeting the requirements of STP 5-17-004(3), the permanent no-contact order must include the reason(s) the no-contact order was made permanent. [Res. 2021-12-030 § 6, 2021.]
