This chapter sets forth the operating procedures for all standing committees and the Tribal Council’s authority to create ad hoc committees and workgroups of the Samish Indian Nation except where otherwise provided by law. The policy of the Samish Indian Nation is to establish permanent standing committees to assist the Tribal Council in fulfilling its obligations in governmental functions and to establish ad hoc committees and workgroups to conduct specific activities of a nonrecurring nature. A committee shall provide advice and assistance to the Council in that committee’s area of responsibility. A committee shall comply with all laws, regulations and policies set by the Tribal Council.
