Each year Tribal Council establishes a budget limitation for the Nonfederal K – 12 Supplemental Education Program based on the available funding. The funding year begins September 1st. Based on the limitations of available funding, the following priorities for assistance have been established to guide distribution of awards:

(1) K – 12 tutoring assistance to achieve grade level expectations (priority given to core reading/writing/math curriculum support and students with current individualized education programs (IEP)).

(a) Selected tutor/service must qualify and be approved based on program requirements (see STC 11.70.090).

(2) GED Completion/Prep/Testing.

(a) All GED pursuit must be demonstrated to be compliant with state laws in the student’s state of residence. For instance, Washington State: http://www.sbctc.ctc.edu/public/y_hse.aspx#Preparation

(b) GED testing fees may be covered by subject area (up to four) for initial tests and up to two retakes.

(c) Additional test fees may be covered after student demonstrates completion of preparation program. Programs available (but not limited to) in Washington State: http://www.sbctc.edu/college/_e-abe_providerslist.aspx
