“Chief Executive Team” means Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

“Council” means the Samish Indian Nation Tribal Council.

“Development activity” includes but is not limited to: clearing, construction, demolition, excavation, grading, grubbing, any water or flood-related projects, dredging, drilling, removal of earth, road repair, road construction, and dumping of materials.

“Development permit” means the document allowing any person to undertake development activity on Samish Indian Country.

“Director” means the Planning Senior Director of Samish Planning Department.

“Land use plan” means a plan approved by the Samish Tribal Council identifying existing and desired future land uses in Samish Indian Country, as such plan relates to the location of a proposed development activity.

“Natural resources” means the Samish Department of Natural Resources, its Senior Director, or their designee.

“Planning” means the Samish Planning Department.

“Samish Indian Country” means any land held by the Tribe whether in fee or in trust.

“THPO” means the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer.
